Job Description
Position Description Title: Packer Department: Operations Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff Status: Hourly Position Purpose: The packer is responsible for packing and re-packing product while ensuring all quality standards are met and supporting safe, efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate film and packaging equipment Monitor machines and report any issues or concerns Remove finished product from conveyors and pack into containers Inspect product and identify/report defects Assist with changeovers, blade changes, material changes, and other setup tasks Work with Operators and Lead Hands to meet production, quality, and safety targets Keep work area clean and organized during and at the end of shift Support general housekeeping across the plant as required Follow all safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment Communicate quality or equipment concerns to Lead Hand or Supervisor Assist with cycle counts and basic troubleshooting Train employees as required Perform other related duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Rotating shifts (days, afternoons, nights, weekends) Regular lifting up to 55 lbs Standing for extended periods Fast-paced production environment Physically demanding work
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Manufacturing experience is an asset Ability to work safely in a team environment Able to follow work instructions and procedures Good attendance and reliability Strong attention to detail and quality
