Job Description
The Sales Manager (Bangkok Based) is responsible for driving business from the Bangkok market to InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping, focusing on corporate, MICE, and high-value leisure segments.
This role acts as the hotel’s representative in Bangkok, proactively developing client relationships, generating leads, and maximizing revenue opportunities while strengthening the hotel’s brand presence in Thailand’s key commercial hub.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Coverage
- Actively promote the hotel to corporate accounts, MICE planners, travel agents, and event organizers based in Bangkok.
- Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts to achieve revenue targets.
- Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, and networking events in Bangkok.
- Organize and participate in sales trips, roadshows, and trade shows.
- Maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry partners.
Account Management
- Manage and develop a portfolio of key accounts to maximize production and long-term value.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close business in line with hotel strategies.
- Monitor account performance and provide regular updates and action plans.
- Maintain accurate records in sales systems (Delphi, Opera S&C, etc.).
Revenue Generation
- Work closely with Revenue Management to align pricing strategies and optimize yield.
- Drive both Rooms and F&B revenue opportunities, including events, group dining, and corporate functions.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise closely with the on-property Sales, Events, and Operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Conduct site inspections in Chiang Mai when required for key clients.
- Provide clear handover of confirmed business to the Events and Operations teams.
- Maintain strong communication with IHG Sales Offices and sister hotels.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, including pipeline, production, and conversion analysis.
- Ensure all activities align with the hotel’s sales strategy and business plan.
- Manage travel plans and expenses efficiently while based in Bangkok.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably handling corporate or MICE segments
- Strong client network in Bangkok market
- Experience in luxury or upscale hotel brands preferred
- Excellent communication in Thai and English
- Willingness to travel between Bangkok and Chiang Mai
