Operations Research and Foundry Systems Architecture is a technical leader responsible for applying advanced optimization and decision science methods to semiconductor foundry operations, while also serving as a senior architect and program leader for manufacturing, planning, and supply chain systems. This role bridges OR modeling, manufacturing operations, and enterprise systems to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated decision platforms that drive fab performance and customer commitments.
Responsibilities
Operations Research and Foundry Optimization
Define OR strategy across fab operations, supply chain, and customer planning organizations.
Design and deploy advanced optimization, stochastic, and simulation models for:
Fab capacity planning and wafer start optimization
Tool utilization, bottleneck identification, and cycletime reduction
Yield, variability, and lot scheduling optimization
WIP and inventory buffering across fab, assembly, and test
Customer demand allocation, prioritization, and SLA tradeoffs
Long leadtime planning, node ramps, and technology transitions
Supply chain disruption, risk, and resiliency modeling
Program Leadership and Systems Architecture
Act as technical architect and senior program leader for OR driven planning and manufacturing systems.
Define endtoend architecture for planning, scheduling, and decision support platforms, including:
MES, APS, ERP, and supply chain planning systems
Digital twins, simulation environments, and optimization engines
Data pipelines, modeling platforms, and analytics layers
Lead multiyear, cross functional programs to integrate OR models into production systems.
Establish modeling, data, and system integration standards to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Partner with IT, automation, and manufacturing systems teams to drive adoption and operationalization.
Executive Influence and Technical Stewardship
Translate complex analytical and system level tradeoffs into clear, actionable insights for fab and executive leadership.
Influence capital investment, capacity expansion, customer commitments, and technology roadmaps.
Mentor senior engineers and architects; elevate analytical, architectural, and delivery excellence across the organization.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or Master's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
12+ years of experience delivering productiongrade OR solutions in semiconductor manufacturing or foundry environments.
Deep expertise in optimization, stochastic modeling, simulation, and queueing systems.
Strong programming background (e.g., Python, C++) and experience with commercial solvers (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX).
Proven experience as a technical program leader or systems architect for complex manufacturing, planning, or supply chain IT systems.
Handson experience with fabs, foundry operations, or advanced manufacturing supply chains.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $52,000.00-$200,000.00 (Hourly Role)
