The Role and Impact
Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Water/Waste Treatment Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing Intel's state-of-the-art water and industrial waste systems. Your work will directly contribute to Intel's operational excellence and sustainability goals, ensuring that our facilities run efficiently while adhering to the highest environmental and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge systems and technologies, making a tangible impact on both our internal processes and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling and analysis of water systems such as UltraPure Water (UPW), Liquid Industrial Waste Systems (LIWS), and Industrial Wastewater Systems (IWT).
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water treatment equipment, including reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange units, ultrafiltration systems, UV light sterilization, cooling towers, steam boilers, heat exchangers, and air scrubbers.
- Monitor water quality using analytical instruments such as ion chromatography, Differential Microbio Analysis (DMA), and particle size counters to ensure system health and efficiency.
- Collaborate with third-party analytical labs to coordinate sample collection, shipment, and results interpretation.
- Prepare technical reports for both technical and non-technical audiences on water treatment initiatives and system performance.
- Assist in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to water sampling, analysis, and system operation.
- Support the implementation of novel analysis techniques to enhance accuracy, reduce turnaround times, and optimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards while performing all tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitting, Plumbing, Electrical or similar.
• NCEA Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent. Minimum of FETAC level 6.
• A minimum of 1 years experience on specialty gas and certified to Level 1 in this area
• Able to perform job roles and responsibilities while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Able to work from heights and climb ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to excel as an individual contributor and part of a team and work effectively across multiple facilities operations disciplines.
• Knowledge of chemical nomenclature and gases used in a semiconductor processing facility.
• Knowledge and proven ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pumps, valves and PLC control logic.
• Ability to operate a PIT (forklift, pallet jack) and spend a considerable part of your day working in a mobile environment.
