Facilities FMS Engineer Location: Ireland, Leixlip Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact As a Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will join our Facilities Management Systems (FMS) Sustaining Team, playing a critical role in maintaining and advancing the technology infrastructure that powers Intel's operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all FMS monitoring and controls equipment on site, contributing to Intel's mission of delivering world-changing technology. By developing and sustaining advanced industrial instrumentation and automation systems, you will directly impact the quality and performance of Intel's facilities, enabling continuous innovation. Key Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and program existing analytical instrumentation for labs, manufacturing, and facilities systems. - Design, test, and modify control systems to enhance operational efficiency and meet evolving business needs. - Analyze data and present findings in technical reports, providing actionable insights and consultancy support to stakeholders. - Manage instrumentation and controls projects, ensuring deliverables are met within budget and timeline constraints. - Collaborate with design engineers, operations teams, and external contractors to drive system improvements. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as quality standards, in all instrumentation and control processes. - Support equipment procurement, software development, and creation of test procedures to enhance system performance. - Conduct root cause failure analysis, developing innovative engineering solutions to address recurring issues. - Model and track changes to control systems, ensuring continuous system optimization and operational excellence. - Lead initiatives to improve long-term equipment performance and drive capital budgets for system upgrades. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Programming, or a related field. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects is required. - Demonstrated problem-solving expertise with the application of structured methodologies and tools. - Strong technical knowledge in PLC controls systems, including Siemens and Allen Bradley Control Logix hardware and programming. - Experience in managing projects and stakeholders across diverse operational landscapes. Preferred Qualifications - Understanding of Intel's global business context and the ability to align technical initiatives with operational goals. - Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-demand, dynamic environment. - Familiarity with sustaining engineering practices, including troubleshooting, systematic problem-solving, and operational optimization. - Experience collaborating with Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) teams and contractors to deliver technical solutions effectively. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
