Job Description
Summary: Intel is a leading technology company known for its innovations in processors and various technological advancements. They are seeking a Data Platforms Engineering Intern to contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of their IT infrastructure, assisting in system configuration and troubleshooting while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the development, maintenance, and optimization of Intel’s information technology infrastructure to support internal business operation, including enterprise applications, data center engineering, network operations, and IT systems operations
- Assists in system configuration, data center operations, and/or troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
- May collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support cloud, network, and database solutions that enhance business efficiency
- As an intern, learns and applies knowledge, builds skills, and explores future career opportunities through handson experience and projects that support Intel business goals in a collaborative environment
Required Qualifications:
- The candidate must have obtained a bachelor's in computer science or related and working towards a master's degree focusing on Computer Science or related computational discipline
- BE/BS or MS in Computer Science/ Engineering with 2+ years' experience
- Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following: Python programming
- Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following: Golang development
- Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following: Development experience with Kubernetes and internals
- Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following: Data engineering
- Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following: Designing and implementing big data solutions using Kubernetes open-source capabilities and Golang development. (Trino, Spark)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD capabilities
- Experience in reporting tools
- Leadership, critical thinking, excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Must have advanced hands-on big data development experience including but not limited to Python, Scala, Jupyter notebooks, Linux shell scripting, Spark frameworks within Kubernetes open-source stack
- Experience engineering and managing disaggregated platform architectures utilizing the Kubernetes framework to enable both on premise open-source compute and/or storage capabilities
- Experience working independently on troubleshooting/resolving issues, capturing/analyzing benchmark performance, and reporting out findings
