Job Description
Summary: Intel is a leading technology company seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join their AI Software Engineering team as an intern. This role offers hands-on experience in AI development, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of AI software solutions across various domains.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and optimization of AI algorithms and software architectures
- Assist in model implementation, tuning, and performance optimization for computer vision and machine learning applications
- Support applied research initiatives and hardware/software integration projects
- Collaborate with internal product teams and external partners on AI solution development
- Participate in system-level deployment activities for scalable AI solutions
- Engage in learning opportunities and skill-building activities aligned with career development goals
- Support various projects that advance Intel's AI software engineering objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a student actively pursuing a PhD in engineering or computer science program with emphasis on Artificial Intelligence
- Specialization in topics related to federated learning, image classification, or multiscale attention for object detection, computer vision, image processing, and feature engineering
- Research/coursework experience with explainability tools
- Data engineering and preparation expertise: data engineering, feature engineering, data imbalance, noisy dataset management
- Python and C++
- PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in deploying AI applications in production environments, requiring high levels of precision and accuracy
- Experience working within the semiconductor industry or similar technology sectors
- Research achievements: First-author publications in top computer vision conferences (CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS)
- A strong portfolio demonstrating projects in computer vision/image AI (e.g., open-source contributions, research papers/projects)
- Git, cloud platforms, cloud concepts, containers, Docker, and MLOps
