Job Description
Summary: Insulet Corporation is an innovative medical device company dedicated to simplifying life for people with diabetes through its Omnipod product platform. The Supplier Engineering - Mechanical Intern will work with cross functional teams on projects related to manufacturing processes, supplier qualification, and process improvements, while gaining valuable experience in the medical device industry.
Responsibilities:
- Work hands on with lab equipment (Instron, Pressure Transducers, OGP, High Speed Camera, etc.) to aid Root Cause Analysis activities
- Design test procedures, 3D printed fixtures, perform custom tests, and analyze data to support tool qualifications and design enhancements
- Project Lead for at least one root causing / process improvement initiative
- Improve internal processes (data analysis, work flow systems, etc.) by automating tasks and standardizing methods using applicable software skills (VBA, etc.)
- Application of Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing concepts
- Assist/Lead Engineering Change Orders to improve product design
- Performs other duties as required
- Up to 5% Travel to local suppliers as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate mechanical, industrial, or bio-engineering program
- 3.0 GPA or better

- Lab Testing using relevant equipment
- Lifting up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude / hands on mentality
- Familiar with statistical analysis
- Experience with CAD software
- Good documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
