Job Description
Summary: Insulet Corporation is an innovative medical device company dedicated to simplifying life for people with diabetes through its Omnipod product platform. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support manufacturing engineering activities, providing hands-on exposure to processes, quality systems, and cross-functional collaboration while assisting with engineering tasks and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering report writing, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of findings
- Draft, review, and update manufacturing protocols, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Support troubleshooting efforts for manufacturing processes, equipment, and production issues
- Participate in quality‑related activities, such as root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help maintain and organize engineering and manufacturing documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Provide general engineering and manufacturing support to ongoing projects and daily operations
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations
- Observe and learn manufacturing processes to identify potential improvements and efficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department and business objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical information
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with technical documentation is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
