Job Description
Summary: Insulet Corporation is an innovative medical device company dedicated to simplifying life for people with diabetes through its Omnipod product platform. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities, providing hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes and quality systems while collaborating with engineers and operations personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering report writing, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of findings
- Draft, review, and update manufacturing protocols, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Support troubleshooting efforts for manufacturing processes, equipment, and production issues
- Participate in quality-related activities, such as root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help maintain and organize engineering and manufacturing documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Provide general engineering and manufacturing support to ongoing projects and daily operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations
- Observe and learn manufacturing processes to identify potential improvements and efficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department and business objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical information
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with technical documentation is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
