Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Business Program Chair to provide academic leadership for the School of Business. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of business programs while ensuring compliance with the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) standards.

The Program Chair will lead faculty, promote excellence in teaching and research, strengthen industry engagement, support accreditation initiatives, and contribute to the institution's strategic academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership & Program Management

• Lead the academic planning, development, and continuous improvement of Business programs.
• Ensure curriculum design, delivery, and assessment align with MOE and CAA standards.
• Monitor program quality, student learning outcomes, and academic performance.
• Prepare annual program reviews, assessment reports, and quality assurance documentation.
• Develop strategic plans to enhance program growth, student success, and academic excellence.

2. Faculty Leadership & Development

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Business programs.
• Promote excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
• Coordinate faculty workload, teaching assignments, and professional development activities.
• Participate in faculty recruitment, onboarding, promotion, and performance evaluations.

3. Teaching & Student Success

• Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Finance or related business disciplines.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Support student retention, progression, and graduation initiatives.
• Participate in academic appeals, curriculum reviews, and graduation recommendations.

4. Research & Scholarly Activities

• Maintain an active research agenda with publications in internationally recognized indexed journals.
• Encourage collaborative research, grant applications, and scholarly activities among faculty.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.
• Support the institution's research strategy and academic reputation.

5. Accreditation & Quality Assurance

• Lead program accreditation and re-accreditation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with MOE, CAA, and institutional academic policies.
• Coordinate assessment of learning outcomes and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Prepare reports and documentation required for accreditation reviews and academic audits.

6. Institutional Service & Industry Engagement

• Build partnerships with industry, professional organizations, and external stakeholders.
• Promote internships, research collaborations, and community engagement opportunities.
• Represent the School of Business on academic committees and institutional initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning and academic development.

Qualifications & Skills RequiredMinimum Qualification

• Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field (Mandatory).
• Academic credentials recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE).

Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of academic experience in higher education.
• At least 5 years in a senior academic leadership role such as Associate Professor, Professor, Program Chair, Department Chair, or equivalent.
• Proven track record of excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Experience in curriculum development, academic administration, and faculty leadership.
• Strong understanding of CAA accreditation, quality assurance, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
• Strong research profile with publications in Scopus- and/or Web of Science-indexed journals.

Technical & Soft Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE higher education regulations and CAA standards.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor faculty and foster a culture of academic excellence.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and Microsoft Office applications.
