Manager - ICAAP & Capital Analytics
Location: Sydney
ING Australia’s Risk Management team is looking to hire a Manager – ICAAP & Capital Analytics, based in our Sydney office.
As a Manager within our Integrative Risk Management team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring ING Australia maintains a strong, forward‑looking and regulator‑ready capital position. This team sits at the heart of the bank’s capital and risk management activities, working across retail, business and wholesale portfolios.
This is a quantitative, analytics‑driven role offering broad exposure to ICAAP, enterprise stress testing, capital analytics, prudential reporting, and recovery and resolution planning, spanning both Australian and European regulatory regimes. You’ll partner closely with local and ING Group colleagues across Risk, Finance and Treasury, as well as senior management, to deliver insights that directly inform strategic and portfolio decision‑making.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with complex data, understands prudential regulation, and is motivated by using quantitative analysis to solve real‑world banking and regulatory challenges.
We’re looking for a data-driven individual with a strong analytical mindset, technical capability, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.

What you’ll do
Support the execution of ICAAP, internal and regulatory stress testing, including scenario development, sensitivity analysis and capital adequacy assessments in line with APRA and European prudential requirements
Support risk oversight activities focusing on risk forecasting and capital management
Perform detailed portfolio, capital and risk analytics across ING Australia’s balance sheet, including retail, business and wholesale lending
Analyse emerging risks, including climate and portfolio sensitivities, and translate findings into clear insights for senior stakeholders
Prepare and support regulatory and internal reporting, including APRA capital returns, Pillar 3 disclosures, and Group reporting
Deliver high‑quality analysis, committee materials, and board papers to support capital and risk governance
Contribute to resolution and recovery planning, including analytics and ongoing monitoring of recovery metrics
Work with Risk, Finance, Treasury and Technology teams to improve data quality, controls, automation and reporting efficiency
Support regulatory projects and implementation of changes to prudential standards, acting as a capital and stress‑testing SME
What we’re looking for
Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline
Experience in financial services, ideally within risk management, , treasury, or balance‑sheet management
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in stress testing, capital analysis, or prudential reporting
Working knowledge of APRA prudential standards (e.g. APS110, 112, 113) focusing on ICAAP, capital, stress testing, Pillar 3) and regulatory reporting frameworks
Technical capability in SAS and SQL for data analysis and modelling
Ability to translate complex regulatory and quantitative concepts into clear, simple insights for senior stakeholders
Strong communication, organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment
