Android Developer at Indea Design… · New…

About the Role

We are looking for an Android Developer with 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining Android applications.

You will work closely with our product, design, backend, and engineering teams to build reliable, polished, and scalable mobile experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, cares about code quality, and wants to take ownership of features from development through release.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
• Develop new features based on product and design requirements.
• Work with REST APIs and integrate backend services into the mobile application.
• Build clean, reusable, and maintainable UI components.
• Debug issues, investigate crashes, and improve application stability and performance.
• Write unit and integration tests where appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering practices.
• Work closely with backend engineers to define and integrate APIs.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to turn requirements into high-quality mobile experiences.
• Help diagnose and resolve issues reported from QA and production.
• Stay up to date with modern Android development practices and libraries.

What We're Looking For

A good candidate should:

• Be comfortable taking a feature from requirements to implementation.
• Be able to understand an existing codebase and make changes without breaking unrelated functionality.
• Think about edge cases rather than only the happy path.
• Write code that other developers can understand and maintain.
• Be comfortable investigating problems instead of immediately looking for someone else to solve them.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Have a genuine interest in building good mobile products.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of professional Android development experience.
• Good knowledge of Kotlin.
• Good understanding of the Android SDK and Android application lifecycle.
• Experience building Android applications using Android Studio.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and authentication.
• Familiarity with Jetpack components, particularly ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Navigation, and Room.
• Good understanding of Git and standard software development workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve problems independently.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and basic software design principles.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Flutter and Dart.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Firebase, including Crashlytics and Analytics.
• Experience with push notifications and deep linking.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Understanding of Android performance optimization.
• Experience publishing applications through the Google Play Console.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for Android applications.
• Experience working with third-party SDKs and payment integrations.
• Experience using AI-powered coding and agentic programming tools, such as Anthropic Claude, in day-to-day development.

Benefits

• Opportunity to work on real-world mobile applications.
• Exposure to modern Android development practices and technologies.
• Opportunity to work with AI-powered development and coding tools.
• Collaborative and supportive engineering environment.
• Learning and growth opportunities.
• Opportunity to work closely with experienced developers, QA, product, and design teams.
• Employee benefits as per company policy.
