Systems Engineer Intern at Imperative Care in Campbell, CA

Summary: Imperative Care is developing novel robotic-assisted technologies to change outcomes for ischemic stroke. The Systems Engineer Intern will assist in the development of a neurovascular robotic system, collaborating with team members to evaluate designs, verify systems, and solve technical issues. Responsibilities: - Define various proofs of concept to aid architecture evaluation in collaboration with more senior team members - Apply technical knowledge to evaluate system designs, identify optimal system solutions, and ensure delivered features meet system and clinical requirements - Support system verification activities by developing test tools & fixtures and designing & executing test protocols - Review test data against established acceptance criteria and document appropriate test reports - Solve technical issues through troubleshooting and determining root cause - Participate in brainstorming and suggest new ideas and improvements pertaining to design and process Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline & a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher - Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to collaborate across disciplines - Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting electromechanical systems Preferred Qualifications: - Some experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python for test automation, data acquisition, and data analysis Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Important Skills: Testing electromechanical systems, Python Benefits: Ongoing networking, Learning and professional development opportunities, Mentorship from executive leadership, Social activities, Peer-to-peer interaction
