Job Description
Summary: Coherent is a global leader in lasers and engineered materials, and they are seeking a Supply Chain Intern to work with the Oracle IT Support team. The role focuses on process improvement, issue analysis, and supporting supply chain functions through the better use of Oracle applications and business process enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate supply chain support tickets and recurring system/process issues to identify root causes and help develop sustainable solutions
- Review existing supply chain business processes and Oracle system usage to recommend enhancements that prevent repeat issues, improve user efficiency, and reduce operational overhead
- Assist in designing, testing, and documenting process or system improvements in partnership with Oracle IT support and business teams
- Collaborate with end users and functional teams to collect requirements, analyze data, validate solutions, and support issue resolution
- Create and maintain reports, trackers, process documents, and analysis summaries using Oracle applications, Excel, and other reporting or ticket management tools
- Deliver a final internship presentation and report highlighting key findings, implemented improvements, and recommendations for future process optimization
Required Qualifications:
- Education Level Required: Bachelor's / Masters - Experience in Supply Chain
- Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently when needed
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in Information Technology / Supply Chain is a plus
