Your team:
The Managed File Transfer Team sits within Data Platform and is responsible for delivering enterprise-wide managed file transfer services across IG Group. The team maintains the GoAnywhere platform, providing 24/7 support for business-critical file transfers that enable secure data exchange between internal systems, external partners, and regulatory bodies across our global operations.
Your role in the Team's Success:
You will be a key technical contributor to the team's success:
Maintain platform reliability: Ensure high availability and performance of the GoAnywhere MFT platform supporting business-critical data flows across IG Group
Technical expertise: Troubleshoot complex workflow issues and provide expert guidance to application teams integrating with MFT services
Operational excellence: Proactively monitor, tune, and optimize file transfer jobs while maintaining comprehensive documentation for security and recovery processes
Standards and best practices: Establish and enforce MFT standards that ensure secure, compliant, and efficient file transfer operations
Team leadership: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams to build a scalable managed file transfer capability for global operations
What you'll do:
Design, configure, and maintain GoAnywhere workflows and jobs to support secure file transfer requirements across the organization
Provide 24/7 operational support for the GoAnywhere platform, including incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution of file transfer failures
Monitor platform performance, analyze logs, and proactively tune jobs to optimize throughput and resource utilization
Manage security configurations including PGP/GPG keys, SSH keys, SSL certificates, and user access controls in compliance with IG security policies
Collaborate with application teams to design efficient file transfer solutions, review workflow designs, and ensure adherence to best practices
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for workflows, operational procedures, disaster recovery processes, and configuration standards.
What you'll need for this role:
2-4 years of hands-on experience with GoAnywhere MFT or similar enterprise managed file transfer solutions (IBM Sterling, MoveIt, Axway)
Strong technical foundation in file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTP/HTTPS), security technologies (PGP/GPG encryption, SSH keys, SSL/TLS), and data formats (XML, JSON)
Cross-platform administration skills with practical experience in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting and command-line proficiency
Scripting and automation capabilities using Python, Shell (bash/ksh), or PowerShell to enhance operational efficiency and automate routine tasks
Analytical problem-solving skills with ability to understand complex workflows, diagnose issues quickly, and provide technical guidance to development teams
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, document technical processes clearly, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
