Job Description
Summary: IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, and health & biosciences, delivering sustainable innovations that elevate everyday products. The Process Engineer Intern/Co-Op role involves leading engineering projects, supporting plant trials, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Leading engineering projects through investigation, scope, design, and implementation phases to provide safety and capacity improvements
- Providing support to engineers in executing plant trials and production/maintenance troubleshooting
- Comply with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMPs, Dietary Supplements, and HACCP-HARPC
- Adhere to all quality systems including ISO 22000 Food Safety, FAMI-QS and NSF Dietary Supplements with an understanding of IFF Corporate Quality policies and procedures
- Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policies
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related disciplines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment
- Basic understanding of microbiological concepts and assays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Data analysis and visualization
- Project leadership
- Process Hazard Analysis and Process Safety Management
- Communicating effectively and interacting with people of different background
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the Spring and Summer semester of 2026 (will also consider Summer-only 2026)

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA or Higher
- Outstanding problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver concrete project deliverables in a timely manner
