Instrument Technician - 1st Shift at IDEXX in Westbrook, ME

Summary: IDEXX is a company dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of pets, people, and livestock. They are seeking an Instrument Technician to perform manufacturing processes, system configuration, and troubleshooting tasks for veterinary instruments and related technology. Responsibilities: - As a technician in Instrument solutions you assemble and test, new or modified electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components or assemblies across all IDEXX product lines - Strong collaboration with a variety of teams in and outside of the department - Assist in the timely creation and implementation of procedures and documentation to support existing and new products and/or equipment for manufacturing and service operations - Responsible for the execution and/or implementation of equipment preventative maintenance program as well as troubleshoot, diagnose and repair malfunctioning product - Record test procedures and results on PC, utilizing spreadsheet tools to archive numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes in product or test method - Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks to assemble, package, and inspect products as needed Required Qualifications: - Positive, open minded and flexible team player - Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills - Production / manufacturing or related experience - Electromechanical equipment repair - Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic acumen, including use of diagnostic equipment and related tooling - MS office platforms and other relevant software tools and knowledge Preferred Qualifications: - Lean manufacturing experience Required Skills: Electromechanical equipment repair, Troubleshooting, diagnostics Important Skills: Production/manufacturing experience, MS Office proficiency Nice-to-Have Skills: Lean manufacturing experience, Interpersonal skills, Written communication, Verbal communication, Team player Benefits: Opportunity for annual cash bonus, Opportunity for performance based annual merit increase, Health / Dental / Vision Benefits Day - One, 5% matching 401k, Generous PTO benefits, Additional benefits including but not limited to pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, employee stock program, foundation donation matching, and much more!
