Job Description
Summary: Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is a science-based, applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s mission in nuclear energy research, science, and national defense. The internship involves providing administrative and research support to the government relations staff, including coordinating meetings, tracking media and legislative activity, and completing a legislative research project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and research support to the INL government relations staff
- Help coordinate and support meetings to INL-DC office
- Provide a welcoming environment for office visitors
- Aid in office reimbursements
- Attend and provide summaries of congressional hearings relevant to INL
- Track relevant media and legislative activity
- Complete a legislative research project in collaboration with your mentor
- Additional tasks may be assigned based on the needs of the office
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled full time as a Undergraduate or Graduate student
- Seeking or earned degree in: Political Science, International Studies, English, or a related field
- Minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)
