Legal Intern at iCapital in New York, NY

Summary: iCapital is looking to hire a Legal Intern to join the Legal team to support a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. The role involves assisting with contract review, legal research, document organization, and day-to-day legal operations while gaining hands-on experience with real business issues. Responsibilities: - Draft and review various contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other legal documentation - Conduct legal research on corporate, commercial, and regulatory topics and prepare concise research memoranda - Support the development and maintenance of standard form agreements and internal legal resources - Assist with legal aspects of internal projects involving corporate governance, vendor relationships, and strategic initiatives - Perform ad hoc research projects Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an accredited law school, completed first year (1L) at the start of the internship - Must be available to work the duration of the program from June 15th through August 14th to be eligible - Must submit transcript with application - Authorized to work in the United States - Strong interest in corporate law, commercial contracts, or in-house legal practice - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment - Organized and detailed oriented with big picture capability - Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot) Preferred Qualifications: - Strong preference for students who have work experience prior to attending law school - GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred - Familiar with technology companies is a plus Required Skills: Corporate law, Commercial contracts, Legal research, Contract drafting, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
