Job Description
Summary: Ibotta is seeking an Associate Analytics Engineer to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. In this role, you will help build the next iterations of our app, mobile, web, and extension experiences while ensuring data is available and reliable for advanced analytics and modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Become a Data Ninja: Learn to organize and optimize Ibotta’s vast data environment for high-level analysis
- Collaborative Development: Partner with Decision Scientists to aggregate and normalize datasets, ensuring they are ready for complex modeling
- Cross-Functional Learning: Work alongside Engineering, Data Engineering, and Decision Science teams to learn and represent data best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Data Validation: Assist in identifying, documenting, and testing events-based data to ensure it answers strategic business questions
- Quality & Reliability: Develop datasets with data quality principles in mind, helping to maintain standards and change management for analytics workflows
- Pipeline Support: Assist in deploying and maintaining data sets using DataBricks
- Democratization: Help build automation tools and UI components that make data accessible to users across the entire company

Required Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of practical experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical internship/co-op
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
- Foundational proficiency in Python and SQL for data wrangling
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and how data moves through a pipeline
- Ability to think creatively and provide insights to solve business questions using data
- A strong attention to detail and an interest in applying data quality principles to every task
- Ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand the business context behind the numbers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with or interest in learning
