Job Description
Summary: Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Manufacturing Intern will assist cross-functional teams in areas such as manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, while developing practical skills in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing operations related to machining, deburring, inspection, and assembly of metal fittings
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and basic analysis related to production efficiency, scrap, rework, and throughput
- Help maintain accurate production documentation in accordance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO, etc.)
- Shadow and assist supervisors, engineers, and leads with process improvements and workflow optimization
- Support inventory tracking, material flow, and basic scheduling activities
- Participate in safety initiatives and comply with all EH&S requirements
- Assist with continuous improvement projects (5S, Lean, standard work documentation)
- Perform administrative and operational support tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Strong interest in aerospace manufacturing and metal products
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
- Interest in pursuing a career in aerospace, manufacturing, or operations
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and production equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, with reasonable accommodations required by law
- Must Comply With All Company Safety And PPE Requirements
