Summary: Howmet Aerospace Inc., a leading provider of engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, is seeking an experienced Machinist to join their team in New Brighton, MN. The Machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet engineering, quality, and safety standards through setup and operation of machining equipment. Responsibilities: - Plan materials and determine appropriate sequences of machining and assembly operations - Set up and operate machining equipment to manufacture precision parts of varying complexity - Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications - Follow manufacturing processes and procedures to perform machining and assembly operations - Fit, align, and assemble machined components into complete assemblies - Perform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, deburring, and finishing - Inspect completed parts and assemblies using precision measuring tools - Verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements - Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately and on time - Work closely with engineering, quality, and inspection teams to meet exact requirements - Troubleshoot machining or assembly issues, improve processes, and reduce scrap - Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor less-experienced machinists when needed - Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - One year's experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or production environment - Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
