Job Description
Summary: Howmet Aerospace is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. They are seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join their EHS team in Dover, NJ, where the role involves implementing key safety measures, analyzing incident data, and ensuring environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with location fatality prevention efforts including helping to lead deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders
- Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts
- Provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts
- Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight and serve as the radiation protection technical resource
- Assist with environmental compliance
- Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities
- Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives
- Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- At least 1 year of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety or health discipline from an accredited institution
- 3 years of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment
