UIL Specialist 1 at Houston Independent School District in Houston, TX

Responsibilities

1. Develops and carries out districtwide co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for students and teachers such as exhibits, contests, and performances in order to prepare campuses for official UIL activities.
2. Formulates, creates, and administers content area in-services, assessment planning, and direction for sponsors of UIL activities by leading the execution of staff development, special events, and activities impacting all HISD schools.
3. Analyzes programs in response to principals, district staffs, and central administrators requests and concerns. Manages the implementation of programs that promote the improvement of student achievement with a variety of new and ongoing community organizations' projects.
4. Researches ways and means for organizations and schools to initiate involvement in UIL activities through the development of district-wide pilot projects, grant-writing, exhibitions, contests, and performances.
5. Serves as a UIL liaison to the community. Participates in organizations associated with UIL.
6. Other duties as assigned.
