Responsibilities

1. Bus Driver Trainee will be responsible for participating in the Houston ISD CDL training program, which includes skills performance and observation. This program aims to equip trainees with the necessary skills and techniques to successfully pass the Texas Department of Public Safety skills tests required to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
2. Bus Driver Trainee must obtain the Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) within 20 hours of classroom training.
3. Bus Driver Trainee must complete behind-the-wheel training and be prepared for the road test within 20 business days from the first training session.
4. Bus Driver Trainee will be permitted a maximum of two (2) attempts to successfully pass each of the required skills tests.
5. Establish and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
6. Read and follow established procedures and guidelines.
