Job Description
Summary: Hologic, Inc. is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join their engineering team. In this entry-level role, you will support the definition, development, and verification of system-level solutions under the guidance of senior engineers, working across hardware, software, and other disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Help create and update system documentation, including requirements, interface descriptions, diagrams, and test cases
- Assist in gathering, documenting, and maintaining system and subsystem requirements
- Support the engineering team in system architecture activities, including interface definition and decomposition of high-level requirements into lower-level specifications
- Participate in system integration and verification activities
- Execute test procedures, record results, and help ensure traceability back to requirements
- Assist with issue investigation and data collection
- Support basic root-cause analysis under the direction of senior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing) to support the resolution of technical issues
- Contribute to design reviews by preparing inputs, updating action items, and tracking closure of assigned tasks
- Follow defined processes, procedures, and quality standards to ensure consistency and compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects are acceptable)
- Basic understanding of system development concepts, such as: Requirements, design, integration and testing
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings, schematics, or specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to requirements management or systems modeling tools (through coursework, projects, or internships)
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects (academic teams, internships, senior design projects, or prior employment)
