Job Description
Summary: HMC Architects is an employee-owned design firm dedicated to making a positive impact in communities through thoughtful design. The Designer I, Interiors will support the interior design team in developing and documenting interior architectural projects, focusing on Revit production and technical accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare interior design and construction documents, including plans, elevations, details, finish schedules, and furniture specifications
- Utilize Revit for modeling, documentation, and coordination with architectural and consultant drawings
- Support design teams from concept through construction, including material research, presentations, and maintaining design intent
- Assist with permitting/plan check processes and coordinate documentation across disciplines
- Support construction administration tasks such as submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure timely, accurate project delivery
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
- Minimum 1 year of Revit experience in interior architectural documentation
- Working knowledge of design development, construction documentation, and building codes (accessibility, egress, materials)
- Proficiency in Revit with advanced command of editing, file management, and issue resolution; competency in Rhino, Enscape, and AutoCAD workflows
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
- Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and ability to collaborate effectively with teams, consultants, and clients
