Hive Autonomy→
Vehicle Integration Engineer at Hive Autonomy in Texas
Job Description
At Hive, we're building the defining physical AI platform of the next decade.
Industrial labor is one of the most acute bottlenecks in the global economy. Operators are expensive, hard to retain, and working in environments that are increasingly unsafe. The shortage is structural. The window to solve it is now.
Our answer is a machine-agnostic intelligence platform that lets any machine, on any site, perceive, decide, and act autonomously. One platform. Any machine. No fleet replacement.
Already live across multiple sites and customers in Europe - spanning logistics and warehousing, industrial manufacturing, and large-scale chemical production - with a US expansion underway.
The vision: one operator managing hundreds of machines simultaneously. Productive machine-hour cost dropping by 80x, and unlocks the next productivity revolution in physical work.
The mission is to make productivity limitless. Come and help us build it.
About the Role
The Vehicle Integration Engineer is the technical owner of each machine retrofit. This person leads the integration from the initial vehicle assessment through field commissioning and technical acceptance.
The role sits at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, embedded, robotics software, and deployment engineering.
Responsibilities
Define the end-to-end integration architecture for each vehicle.
Assess vehicle systems, interfaces, operating modes, and integration constraints.
Own mechanical integration, including component placement, brackets, mounting, protection, and cable routing.
Define interfaces between the vehicle, Hive hardware, embedded controls, and robotics software.
Coordinate work across electrical, embedded software, robotics software, and deployment teams.
Lead machine bring-up, system debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
Define integration and acceptance test plans.
Own technical readiness for customer deployment.
Develop repeatable Vehicle Adapter Kits, BOMs, drawings, and installation procedures.
Capture lessons learned and improve the integration process across vehicle platforms.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in vehicle, robotics, automotive, industrial equipment, or systems integration.
Strong hands-on experience integrating complex electromechanical systems.
Experience with industrial vehicles, construction equipment, material-handling equipment, or mobile robots.
Experience integrating sensors, compute systems, actuators, controllers, and communication networks.
Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and CAN/J1939.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with CAD-based designs.
Strong system-level troubleshooting and technical leadership skills.
Ability to work directly with customers and deployment teams.
Willingness to travel regularly and support field commissioning.
