Summary: Hilltop Securities is looking to hire a Junior Institutional Sales Trainee. The Junior Institutional Sales Trainee will provide administrative and operational support to a team of Salespeople on the trading floor, while learning the Institutional Sales role and progressing into a junior sales position. Responsibilities: - Answer client inquires over the phone and via email - Assist Institutional Sales team with daily activities - Troubleshoot trade problems, check hedges and confirm trades with clients and dealers back-office teams - Maintain databases and files - Support the administrative needs of the office - Obtain the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful in the brokerage industry Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required (Finance or Econ preferred) - Must have or be willing to obtain Series 7 & 63 licenses within six months of hire - Desire to learn the Institutional Sales business - Strong PC skills including knowledge of MS office products and the Bloomberg Terminal - Team player, comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment - Ability to maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure - Ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - Highly motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit interested in working in a competitive environment - Monthly travel will be required to see clients Preferred Qualifications: - 1-2 years previous industry or sales experience preferred Required Skills: Series 7 license, Series 63 license, Institutional Sales, Microsoft Office, Bloomberg Terminal
