Job Description
Summary: Highgate is a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company, and they are seeking a Summer Intern for their Human Resources Department. The intern will support daily administrative functions and assist with new hire administration, employee relations, and training communications.
Responsibilities:
- Support the overall Human Resource Department in daily administrative functions
- Assist the Human Resources leadership with key responsibilities, which includes new hire administration, employee relations, training and communications with both hotel departments and Highgate corporate offices
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Required Qualifications:
- Currently studying for Bachelor's degree, Graduate degree in Human Resources or equivalent
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Should possess the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
- Extensive proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required and ability to manipulate data essential
