Job Description
Summary: HEXPOL Compounding is a key player in the global value chain for rubber compounding products. The Operations Intern will work closely with the General Manager and site leadership, gaining hands-on exposure to various functional areas of plant operations while supporting real business initiatives and participating in a structured training program.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operational initiatives and priorities
- Gaining exposure to multiple functional areas including: Safety and EHS processes
- Engineering and maintenance
- Production operations
- Scheduling and planning
- Inventory Management
- Purchasing and procurement
- Shipping and receiving
- Supporting cross-functional projects that impact overall plant performance
- Assisting with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in a structured operations training program and skills matrix
- Shadowing different departments to build a broad understanding of the business
- Supporting production and operational activities as needed
- Assisting with data collection, reporting, and analysis
- Participating in customer visits and Quarterly Business Reviews to understand the customer-facing side of operations
- Completing additional projects or tasks as assigned by site leadership
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Strong interest in manufacturing operations and leadership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to learn and gain hands-on experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset
