Job Description
Summary: HEXPOL Compounding Americas is an essential contributor to the global value chain in rubber compounding products. The Operations Intern will work closely with the General Manager and site leadership to gain hands-on exposure to various functional areas of plant operations, supporting real business initiatives and participating in a structured training program.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operational initiatives and priorities
- Gaining exposure to multiple functional areas including:
- Safety and EHS processes
- Engineering and maintenance
- Production operations
- Scheduling and planning
- Inventory Management
- Purchasing and procurement
- Shipping and receiving
- Supporting cross-functional projects that impact overall plant performance
- Assisting with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in a structured operations training program and skills matrix
- Shadowing different departments to build a broad understanding of the business
- Supporting production and operational activities as needed
- Assisting with data collection, reporting, and analysis
- Participating in customer visits and Quarterly Business Reviews to understand the customer-facing side of operations
- Completing additional projects or tasks as assigned by site leadership
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Strong interest in manufacturing operations and leadership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to learn and gain hands-on experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset
