Job Description
Summary: Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a global edge-to-cloud company that helps organizations connect and act on their data. The High School Intern role provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience in software development while working on meaningful projects and collaborating with professionals in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new features
- Identifying, fixing, and documenting bugs
- Participating in peer code reviews
- Contributing to team knowledge base
- Analyzing and designing software and configuration changes
- Learn about ProLiant servers and hardware configurations
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum age 16
- Must have completed Junior year of High School
- Knowledge of at least one programming language like Java, Python, or Golang
- A familiarity with and understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platform types
- You will write code and complete programming by using current programming languages and technologies
- You will perform testing and debugging of applications
- You will complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
- You will interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
- You will effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals
- You will collaborate with peers, engineers, technicians, and external design partners
- You will typically interact with high-level individual contributors, managers, and program core teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced in software application design tools, experienced in programming languages, and ideally have some awareness of developing for Linux
- The drive to seek out what's next and to deliver exceptional results
- A collaborative, solution focused spirit and overall sense of urgency
- Experience as an active leader on campus who strives to make a positive impact on the world
- Comfort with working in a hybrid (virtual and face-to-face) environment
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to ask smart questions
