Job Description
Summary: Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. As a Propulsion Engineering Intern, you will support the design, development, and testing of propulsion components and systems, collaborating closely with engineers and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of propulsion components and systems from conceptual design through detailed mechanical design
- Create and release engineering drawings and collaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to produce hardware
- Assist in defining, configuring, and setting up propulsion test rigs
- Support the execution and documentation of propulsion hardware testing and development activities
Required Qualifications:
- Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects
- Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)
- Strong interest in propulsion systems, design, and testing
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
- Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must either be a 'U.S. person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing
