Job Description
Summary: Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. As a GNC Engineering Intern, you will support the development of guidance, navigation, and control systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft, with a focus on controls development, algorithm implementation, and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, implementation, and testing of guidance and control algorithms for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
- Assist in developing and tuning control laws for flight vehicle stability and performance
- Implement and validate control algorithms in simulation and test environments
- Support analysis of test data and help refine control system performance
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong background in controls, dynamics, and feedback systems
- Experience with control system modeling and simulation
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar tools used for controls development
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must either be a 'U.S. person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing
