Job Description
Summary: Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. As a Flight Software Intern, you will support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft and work with the A-GRA framework to develop interoperable systems and messaging architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
- Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems that enable communication between mission subsystems
- Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support system interoperability
- Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces and integrations
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages
- Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s)
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
- Interest in mission systems, autonomy, or aerospace systems integration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must either be a 'U.S. person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing
