Accounting Intern - Treasury at Herc Rentals in Bonita Springs, FL

Summary: Herc Rentals is a leading equipment rental supplier in North America. The Accounting Intern - Treasury will support the accounting and finance teams by assisting with accounting close and reporting activities, journal entries, reconciliations, internal controls, reporting, and finance-related projects.

Responsibilities:
- Learn about the company’s accounting cycle, including balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, internal controls, and financial analysis
- Learn about other accounting and finance functions including: Treasur, General Ledger Accounting, Order to Cash, External Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, Internal Audit and, Finance Business Partners
- Prepares internal reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other systems
- Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and reconciling accounts
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Understands and maintains Sarbanes Oxley internal control compliance
- Understands financial reporting requirements
- Project work as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Experience in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Interest in corporate banking and domestic/international financial systems

Preferred Qualifications:
- seniors or students nearing graduation are preferred
