Job Description
Ready to lead a dynamic laboratory team? As a Supervisor of Laboratory Services (Hematology/Coagulation), you'll take the helm of one or more technical areas or shifts in a clinical laboratory, keeping everything running smoothly and in top form. You'll champion best practices, maintain cutting-edge procedures that meet accrediting and regulatory standards, and build an engaged, high-performing team. Collaborate with Medical and Technical Team leaders to evaluate and roll out innovative test methods, keep our supply chain humming, and use data-driven insights to deliver exceptional service quality. Plus, you'll help shape system-wide standards that elevate our entire Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service Line!
- Lead and oversee the operation of one or more technical areas or shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Build and maintain a stellar team through recruitment, competency development, engagement initiatives, and performance management
- Create and maintain technical and operating procedures that exceed accrediting and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Medical and Technical Team leaders to evaluate and implement innovative test methods
- Manage supply chain requirements to keep operations efficient and effective
- Develop financial forecasts and leverage metrics to drive service quality and operational excellence
- Champion the development and implementation of system-wide standards across the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service Line
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Requires completion of an accredited Bachelor's Degree program in a chemical, physical, biological science, medical technology or clinical laboratory science.
- Requires certification as MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), MLS(ASCP) or categorically in the primary area assigned.
- Requires five years of experience, with progressive responsibility in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting including experience with laboratory accreditation.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to oversee laboratory functions.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with personal computers for word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal interactions.
