Job Description
About the Department
12 bed Medical Progressive Care Unit that the specializes in caring for patients in resp failure, sepsis, and stroke. Patients are too sick for the general floor but not sick enough for the ICU. Patients are hardwire connected to bedside monitors. Typically day shift has 2 NAs and night shift has 1 NA. Covid patients are routinely on the unit. MPCU patients have many of the same drips as the ICU except for vasopressors and sedation
Role Overview
As a Nurse Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you'll perform specific patient care duties, provide input for care plans, and respond to emergent situations. Your work directly supports our nursing team and contributes to the exceptional care we provide at Henry Ford Health.

- Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.

Qualifications
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA certification preferred.
