Summary: Hendrickson is offering an Engineering Intern role with the Advanced Technology Group (ATG) that provides students with real-world experience while still in school. The role involves working on the design and development of embedded systems and collaborating with engineers on innovative projects. Responsibilities: - Working on the design and development of embedded systems and components, such as, but not limited to, vehicle sensing technology and control systems - Create CAD models and simulations for ongoing projects - Assisting with conducting tests on embedded systems and equipment to ensure they function correctly - Supporting with troubleshooting embedded systems and prototypes that fail or require adjustments through testing - Assisting with writing, testing, and debugging code for various applications and systems - Completing data collection and root cause analysis (RCA) of field and development systems - Analyzing data from tests and experiments to assist the engineering team in drawing conclusions and making recommendations for improvements - Preparing technical documentation, including but not limited to reports, schematics, and user manuals - Collaborating closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members, both within ATG, and cross-functionally across other business units to complete projects and solve problems - Understand and apply learned industry and company standards, and regulations, to ensure compliance and safety - Assisting in the creation and testing of prototypes through 3D printing, machining, fabrication, printed circuit board (PCB) design, assembly, installation, and calibration to evaluate their performance and feasibility - Assist with part or supply procurement from other company locations or vendors - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Enrolled college student in an electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer engineering program - A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale - Must possess a valid Driver's License - Ability to work on-site on a full-time basis - Basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts - Strong desire for multi-disciplinary learning - Familiarity with tools and software such as, but not limited to, CAD and/or MATLAB - Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Java, and/or Python - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to communicate effectively and work among a team Preferred Qualifications: - Participation in STEM or FIRST extracurriculars is preferred Required Skills: Embedded Systems, Vehicle Sensing Technology, Control Systems, CAD, MATLAB, C++, Java, Python, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, 3D Printing, Machining, Fabrication, Printed Circuit Board Design, Assembly, Installation, Calibration Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, Life, travel, and disability insurance, A flexible spending account, 401K plans, A pension plan, Paid holidays and vacation, Financial assistance programs if you decide to adopt a child or want to pursue further education, A comprehensive wellness program, An Employee Assistance Program, that supports individuals in the proactive management of their overall health and wellness
