Job Description
Summary: Hendrick Technical Solutions is a dynamic and growing force within the defense industry, currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to developing cutting-edge unmanned ground vehicles and next-generation electro-mechanical equipment. This role involves hands-on learning, supporting the design, development, and testing of electrical systems in a collaborative team environment focused on enhancing national security.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for UGV platforms and robotic prototypes
- Assist with wiring harness design, component sourcing, microcontroller integration, and troubleshooting of DC power systems
- Work alongside mechanical and design engineers to integrate electrical systems into vehicles, considering space and weight constraints
- Help build prototypes, conduct bench and on-vehicle tests, collect data, and recommend improvements
- Create and update wire harness schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports to support the engineering team
- Partner with electrical technicians and multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to real-world engineering processes
- Contribute ideas to refine designs and improve performance while developing your own technical skills
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (analog/digital circuit design, microcontrollers, power distribution, controls systems, programming)
- Familiarity with Github, DMMs, and Oscilloscopes is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license required
- Effective communicator, able to work well in a team setting
- Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or U.S. Person)
