Summary: Hemut is transforming the American trucking industry through software and operational technology. They are seeking an Operations & Finance Intern to work closely with the COO/CFO, gaining exposure to the operational and financial aspects of an early-stage YC company. Responsibilities: - Run end-to-end accounting: Handle bookkeeping, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting - Support oversight of $100K+ in monthly transactions flowing through the company (payroll, expenditures, vendor payments) - Manage payroll runs, benefits and insurance enrollment, and onboarding logistics - Uphold and enforce internal company policies evenly across teams - Work alongside outside counsel on contracts and corporate housekeeping - Tackle outreach, research, and special projects directly from the CEO - Lead major internal projects like SOC 2 compliance and ERP rollouts Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program - Available 20+ hours/week - Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling unrelated workstreams - Low ego, high ownership — you'll be trusted with sensitive work from day one Required Skills: Bookkeeping, Journal entries, Reconciliations, Month-end close, Financial reporting, Payroll management, Benefits, insurance enrollment, Onboarding logistics, Policy enforcement, Contract coordination, SOC 2 compliance, ERP rollout Benefits: Summer Residency Support: All food and housing costs are fully provided by the company for in-person, full-time employees, The Full-Time Horizon: We want you to stay.
