Job Description
Summary: Helen of Troy is a prominent player in the global consumer products industry, offering diverse career opportunities. The Operations Associate Product Engineer will support lifecycle management and continuous improvement activities for products, including lab testing, prototyping, and collaboration with manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities:
- Execute test plans to prove design functionality, durability, manufacturability, and reliability of parts and assemblies
- Create prototypes to validate changes
- Design experiments to test finished products and individual components
- Design and build test apparatuses to suit specific needs
- Record, file, share, and present test results
- Communicate with and guide international manufacturing partners
- Collaborate with project managers, quality team, manufacturing engineers, and product teams to ensure product and project goals are met
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or relevant industry
- Experience with CAD, prototyping, and 3D printing
- Experience with SolidWorks or Creo
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in a professional product development or engineering environment
- MS Suite experience: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel internationally (Asia)/domestically (up to 10%)
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective project management, collaboration, and communication abilities
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly through sketches and email (including to others where English is their 2nd language)
- Energetic, enthusiastic, collaborative team-player
- Desire to make a true impact on the organization through engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Asian and North American manufacturing and sourcing
- Experience working in the consumer goods realm
- Previous exposure to product manufacturing: plastic injection, sheet metal work, silicone molding, and die-casting
- Molded part design
