Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adults and adolescents in an inpatient behavioral health setting, based on physician orders and care plans.
• Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, and document in the electronic medical record; manage Pyxis medication dispensing as required.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor safety, and participate in treatment planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and nursing staff; perform effective handoffs and maintain accurate shift documentation.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned and participate in on-call coverage (24 hours over a 6-week period) to support unit operations.
• Support de-escalation and crisis intervention efforts; CPI training is preferred and may be required for some assignments.

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis systems
• Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting and to perform night-shift duties
• Prior behavioral health experience preferred; CPI training is preferred but not required
