Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for obstetric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within scope of practice.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring, recognize deviations, and escalate as needed.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders and established protocols; document care accurately.
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
• Transcribe, utilize, and implement physician orders and protocols; maintain up-to-date documentation.
• Coordinate the healthcare team, delegating appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel and collaborating with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal staff.
• Respond to emergencies and provide care in accordance with unit policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming, in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current and maintained; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications current and maintained as applicable; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification current.
• Labor and Delivery-specific electronic fetal monitoring training: Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring within the first year after orientation; Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring within three years.
• NICU/Special Care Nursery experience or general labor and delivery/hospital experience preferred.
