Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Backup Engineer – Rubrik to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise backup and recovery solutions with a strong focus on Rubrik Cloud Data Management (CDM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing backup infrastructure, ensuring data protection compliance, cloud backup integrations, disaster recovery readiness, and operational excellence across hybrid cloud environments. The role requires hands-on expertise in Rubrik, cloud platforms, backup and recovery operations, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and automation. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Administer and support Rubrik CDM environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. • Configure, monitor, and maintain backup, recovery, archival, and retention policies. • Manage backup solutions for: o VMware vSphere o Microsoft Hyper-V o Windows Servers o Linux Servers o Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) o NAS/File Shares • Implement and manage cloud archival and backup integrations with: o Microsoft Azure o Amazon Web Services (AWS) o Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Perform backup and recovery testing to ensure recoverability and business continuity. • Monitor backup job performance and troubleshoot failed backups, replication, and archival issues. • Configure SLA domains, replication, immutability, and retention policies based on business requirements. • Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution. • Implement ransomware protection and cyber recovery best practices using Rubrik security features. • Work with infrastructure, application, database, and cloud teams to ensure comprehensive data protection coverage. • Generate operational reports, compliance metrics, and backup health dashboards. • Participate in on-call support and incident management activities. • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs to improve operational efficiency. • Ensure adherence to organizational security, compliance, and governance requirements. ________________________________________ Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Hands-on experience with Rubrik CDM administration and operations. • Strong understanding of enterprise backup and recovery concepts. • Experience with: o VMware vSphere o Hyper-V o Windows and Linux operating systems o Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases • Knowledge of cloud storage and backup services within Azure, AWS, and GCP. • Experience with backup replication, archival, retention policies, and disaster recovery methodologies. • Understanding of security concepts including: o Immutable backups o Ransomware protection o Data encryption o Access control • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or API-based automation. • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management practices.
