A well-established Irish manufacturing and trading business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. Operating for almost 40 years, the company has built a strong reputation within its sector, has its HQ in Cork. The company has a manufacturing facility, warehouses and also has a UK operation. The business offers a collaborative, down-to-earth culture, a flat management structure, and genuine involvement in commercial decision-making.
Your new role
Reporting directly to a Company Director, you will take full responsibility for the finance function while partnering closely with operations and senior management to drive business performance and strategic initiatives. This is a broad and commercially focused Financial Controller position offering significant autonomy and visibility across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Cost accounting for the manufacturing operation
- Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Weekly and monthly KPI reporting
- Inventory reporting and stock monitoring
- Cashflow management and forecasting
- Managing year-end audit and statutory compliance
- Developing financial controls and finance processes
- Leading ERP and business intelligence improvements
- Chairing management meetings and supporting strategic planning
- Building strong relationships across finance, operations and supply chain
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience operating at Financial Controller level or ready to step into such a position.You'll bring:
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience within manufacturing, operations or industry
- The confidence to challenge and influence decision-making
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- The ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
