Job Description
Summary: HarrisX is a leading technology, market research, and consulting company specializing in corporate and public opinion research. As a Research Analyst on the Custom Research team, you will support end-to-end research engagements, contributing to research design, data analysis, and client deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of custom research projects, including timeline tracking, fieldwork coordination, and vendor management under the direction of a Research Manager
- Assist in the development of research instruments, including survey questionnaires and moderator guides, in line with established methodological standards
- Program surveys using platforms such as Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT, and manage quality checks throughout the fieldwork process
- Clean, process, and analyze survey data using Q, SPSS, or equivalent statistical tools, applying appropriate weighting and validation techniques
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards that translate findings into clear, actionable insights for client delivery
- Support the integration of multiple data sources, including survey, behavioral, and secondary data, as directed by senior team members
- Participate in client communications, documenting business objectives and project requirements under the guidance of a Research Manager or Director
- Collaborate cross-functionally with analysts, data scientists, and research operations colleagues across project workstreams
- Apply and develop familiarity with AI-powered tools used for survey automation, data synthesis, and content analysis as part of the team's evolving workflow
Required Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in custom market research, data analysis, or a related research environment
- Academic and practical exposure to a range of research methodologies, including new product, brand, advertising, and customer satisfaction research
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and have working knowledge of Q, SPSS, SAS, or equivalent statistical software
- Hands-on experience programming surveys in platforms such as Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT
- Understand survey methodology fundamentals, including best practices for questionnaire design, statistical weighting, and data validation
- Comfortable working with multiple data types and have a foundation in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization
- Communicate clearly in both written and verbal form, and can present findings in a structured, accessible way
- Detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines, and comfortable operating with some ambiguity
- Curious about AI-powered tools and open to applying them within research workflows, including survey automation and data synthesis
- Hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, statistics, mathematics, political science, communications, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with R, Python, or data visualization tools
- A Master's or advanced degree
