Job Description
Work for ADS and support students with disabilities! Get real-life experience and expand your knowledge of the world! Two positions available now!
General Function:
- Provide general assistance as determined by the department.
Responsibilities
Student aide/Front Desk
- Greet/direct students, visitors, staff and faculty and provide customer service at the front desk.
- Answer phone calls and assist callers, or messages through TEAMS.
- Schedule appointments in our proprietary software system and make Custom Requests as appropriate.
- Provide information about ADS processes and events.
- Perform data entry tasks - Sort and distribute mail.
- Scan or print documents as needed.
- Keep office supplies organized and stocked.
- Assist staff with administrative tasks.
- Help with organizing ADS events.
- Being bilingual in Spanish or American Sign Language is an added advantage.
Lab Aide position assists a student with a disability/disabilities in a lab class; may include providing manual manipulation of papers, books, other lab work as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with ADS staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and quick learner.
- Patience and empathy; maintaining confidentiality in all our work.
